Massage is usually thought of as being relaxing, a luxury but not a necessity, not as a treatment
for stress or other health problems. Ask your average doctor for a referral to a Massage therapist,

Therapeutic massage is not necessarily easy, leisurely, relaxed or gentle. As an alternative health
therapy for a chiropractor, a physiotherapist, or an orthopedic specialist, or even corrective
surgery, massage presents many benefits, not just physical. As in many kinds of therapy, a
carefully planned combination of two or three therapies, for example physio treatments to correct

your doctor is aware (and you should tell your doctor all health issues anyway) that you receive
treatments of chiropractic and massage, the two of you may discuss more appropriate schedules
in terms of how many treatments per year would be best, and whether a chiropractic adjustment
one day and another alternative health treatment such as a massage treatment within two days of
that adjustment is advised.

You also acquire a sense of control and direction with your health, rather than just being an
involuntary recipient of illness, pain or stress, without any way of improving. Alternative health
therapies can lend empowerment to someone who is tired, frustrated, feeling anxious or
depressed, by giving that person a goal and the means to achieve that goal of better health. With
that sort of goal in mind, to rejoin the curling team or continue training in martial arts, treatments
with alternative health therapies such as massage and physiotherapy can be much greater than
the sum of their parts.

Costs also impact your choices for alternative health therapies. For some treatments, you may end
up paying for it yourself. If your family insurance or company insurance allows, you may be
partially or fully covered for some alternative health therapies. Speak to your insurance
representative to find out more.

In summary, choose a massage practitioner carefully, be aware of these important points, and
along with traditional healing methods, you can prolong your physical health and emotional
well-being with alternative health therapies such as massage.
